This afternoon, Paul and I attended a matinee performance of Handel’s Messiah at Cincinnati’s Music Hall.

Music Hall, built in 1878, is Cincinnati’s premier classical music performance hall. This elegant century-old building is known for it’s Venetian Gothic architecture and romantic eclecticism, with it’s millions of red pressed bricks, garrets, turrets, gables, insets, nooks and broken surfaces and planes.

It’s decorated in hues of burgundy and French gray, gold and white. A red motif is carried throughout the main foyer and auditorium with velvet textures and opulent designs.

This building is one of Cincinnati’s historical gems and will never go out of style.
