That Kind Of Blogger
My mind has been swirling and obsessing about what kind of blogger I want to be. “What do I want from this? What types of posts do I want to write and share with others? What does success look like?”
Of course, my first inclination is to copy bloggers that I admire and try to duplicate their success. But what’s the fun in that? I don’t want to be another copy. I want to carve my own path. I sometimes doubt myself and ask “Am I really that original? Do I really have anything new and interesting to share that hasn’t already been done?”
Then, I remember. There is only one ME.
My goal is not to copy someone else, but to be the best version of myself.
The truth about becoming the best version of yourself is that the journey never ends. Who you are today is different from yesterday and different from the year before. We are constantly changing and evolving, and we should be. Just as an apple begins to die as soon as it’s picked from the tree, if we are not growing, we are dying.
A coworker recently asked me to score my happiness level, 1 out of 10 (10 being the highest). Without hesitation, I responded, “That’s easy. I’m a 10. I am so blessed to have such a loving family, thoughtful friends, a roof over my head, food in my belly, and a job that I challenges and excites me.”
The next day, I found the same coworker to change my answer. “I’ve been thinking about my score and I would like to change it. I want my happiness level to be an 8 out of 10 so that I am always striving, always learning, and always challenging myself to be better than I was the day before.”
I never want to feel like I’m on a plateau. There is beauty and strength in the climb. I want to continue to challenge myself to become better everyday. “Always try to be better than you were yesterday.”
Do you know what inspires me? Sharing with others that are on the same journey. My goal is to inspire others and support them in their journey to become the best version of themselves.
Are you better than you were the day before? What are your goals to be the best version of yourself TODAY?
