Rock’in it as a cali girl
I have not been in LA since I was a freshman in college and was invited to stay at the home of someone in my dorm for spring break. I remember several moments from that trip. A woman walking down the beach in high heels. When we got hit on the interstate by a van full of migrant workers while on our way to visit my first kiss in Bakersfield. A trip to Disney World, when we felt a little too old to be there, but enjoying it just the same.
This is my first time back in over 10 years and I have lots of expectations.
I deliberated over what to wear for several hours. My only sources for inspiration are TV shows of cops tackling bad guys on Sunset Boulevard while a girl in a bikini top and short shorts skates by on that winding path beside the ocean.
This is the outfit, somewhat unusual and also exciting for a girl who usually wears all black. I may look out of place or like an ad straight out of some magazine trying too hard to capture Californian style. Regardless, this is my vision of what it means to be a Cali girl (during winter, mind you) and I am going to rock it all day long.
